IDC for the industry
IDC West Sweden is a development company for people in the manufacturing industry in Skaraborg. Our mission is to strengthen the competitiveness and profitability of the manufacturing industry companies in Skaraborg.
We are owned by approximately 160 small and medium-sized manufacturing industry companies in Skaraborg and we are a non-profit organisation. Our model consists of giving help to self-help and what we need is that our partner companies want to develop – for a sustainable future industry.
As co-workers of IDC, we run a number of exciting development ventures together with our partner companies focussing on different areas such as development, the environment, circular economy, materials, product development, strategic competence provision, production efficiency, re-cycling, markets and social sustainability.
All development paths are different
We are often seen as a ”junction box” in which the needs of the industry companies are actively identified and connected with resources for development. When their needs are identified, we have a number of tested tools, large networks and broad competence that we can use to give the companies the ”help to self-help” that they need. We focus on long-term strengthening and learning interventions.

A development journey with IDC also entails coaching and support all the way within all areas, issues and challenges.
Analysis and Coaching
We are often seen as a ”junction box” in which the needs of the industrial companies are actively identified and connected with resources for development. Our working model is based on the philosophy of ”help to self-help”. We focus on long-term strengthening and learning interventions. That is how we drive development and create sustainable value.
Benefits and Funding
We support our partner companies in their funding applications. We do not distribute our own money but we have a good overview of the possibilities for funding which are available to our partner companies. We willingly give advice concerning funding solutions which are current and even give support during the application process.
Competence development
IDC offers its partner companies opportunities for competence development through training, focus meetings, theme meetings and inspirational seminars. We co-ordinate training in connection with various others, amongst others, the University of Skövde. Our position is that everything we offer within competence development is to be based on the needs of our partner companies.
Furthermore, we give advice concerning training and events which are arranged by others, but which can be useful and inspirational to people in our partner companies.
Networks
We work for collaberation in everything we do. Our networks are a natural way for us to cluster and create commitment with the aim to strengthen, in the long-term, our partner companies and meet their needs. We offer networks within areas such as CEO/surroundings, production technology, purchasing, and production-technological networks.
